Irpin is a city located on the Irpin River in Kyiv Oblast right next to the city of Kyiv in northern Ukraine. A portion of Irpin, the settlement of Kotsiubynske, is an exclave within Kyiv.
The city was named after the Irpin River that it was founded on. In English, the correct Ukrainian-derived spelling of the city is "Irpin" and not "Irpen".
